The Intruders Foundation was founded in 1989 by UFO abduction researcher Budd Hopkins as a not-for-profit organization with four specific goals:

• To provide sympathetic help, understanding and personal investigation for those reporting UFO abduction experiences.
  
  
• To carry out systematic research into the abduction phenomenon through a careful study of its patterns and resulting physical traces.
  
  
• To mount an extensive program of public education.
  
  
• To develop a cadre of trained professionals in various fields to carry out all of these projects.
  

Progress towards these goals can be seen in the Intruders Foundation's national referral network of therapists, investigators and hypnotists, and, in our New York headquarters, an ongoing program of interviews, hypnotic regressions and abductee support groups. Our large database of UFO abduction reports is being made more accessible for researchers, and our extensive efforts at public education can be seen in such activities as the recent Abduction Conference held in New York City. Future plans include a series of public lectures by leading researchers and abduction experiencers, as well as training workshops and seminars for interested IF members.

You are invited to become a member of the Intruders Foundation to help us in this important work. You will receive, for the $30 yearly fee, four issues of the IF Newsletter, as well as special reports and discounts to all IF events. But the most important benefits, we believe, are personal and twofold. First, the satisfaction one feels in having supported the network of trained therapists and investigators who work with the often traumatized UFO abductees. And second, one can take pride in having contributed funds for the scientific search for a solution of the UFO abduction mystery. Physical scientists, radiologists, psychologists, physicians and researchers in many related fields of study are being recruited for this immensely important project, and every IF membership adds to our capabilities.
